Costco

Met up with A and went to Costco. Am I not reasonable to be mad that he left for the inland trip without a word?

Then dinner at McDonald's, A's favorite restaurant. (T_T) Why is he so picky about food, yet chooses McDonald's as his best??? That branch, however, was the most deluxe one I've been to. It was huge and there were leather sofas in front of a big screen TV.

After dinner, we went to Walmart for stuff that Costco didn't have. Picked up some fresh corn form a road-side vendor van. Thanks for the chips and stuff.

p.s.
Out of the 6 ears of corn I got, 3 are very small and under developed. One even has a hole on the side. We let the vendor pick for us. That was a mistake.

The 3 half-bags of chips from A were not half, but only a mere handful. The bags were oily, sticky, and gross. I do appreciate hand-me-downs, but these... makes me feel like a scavenger. He still can't distinguish between "sharing" and "discarding". Sigh... (T_T) Well, he did give me lots of other new stuff too. Maybe I shouldn't think this way. But I can't help in...

White Lover

From last December, a gift from cousin D's Japanese trip. Thanks! He went to Hokkaido with his wife and toured the factory of this famous white chocolate cookie. Usually, white chocolate is not my cup of tea because there's nothing besides sugar and fat. But this is delicious! It's not like others, but fragrant with milk... I don't like milk, but this is magically different! The cookie part has perfect texture and flavour. Extremely addictive. Why are Japanese so good at making such awesome candies???

Chiropractor

Got R's address confirmation so I needed to pack and mail the book today. Took longer than I thought and was late for chiropractor. Only 12 minute but he was running late anyway. There were 4 people in front. By the time I was done, it was almost 5. As usual, I went to check out DeSerres' on-going moving sale. Almost bought something I don't need. Also went to Urban Source for the small test tubes. However, on second thought, they are too easy to break and not good for mailing. So I didn't make the purchase. I think I'm controlling my spending better now... but ended up wasting gas. Oh well!

The nearby house has started the base for a new foundation. The other one... wooden structures are already up! Yikes!!!!!!

Cat #2 seems to be living with a parent (probably mom) and she was very cautious against me (or strangers in general). She ran in front of #2 to block him/her. Then #2 seemed to understand, and kept his/her distant. Awwww... (T_T)

Visit day

Nursing home visit day. At least it didn't stink. (Every Friday is floor moping day and it's still fresh.) Dad, as usual, rolled up his pants. At least he didn't roll up his shirt. Ate-out with brother's gang afterward.

The nearby house is ready for a new foundation. The other one has it's gap all filled already. Cleanup hasn't progressed much... (>_<;)

Dinner with brother's gang at Honolulu. The blueberry Mrs. M gave us yesterday is good. Some are huge too.

Dinner

Mom went to give dad a haircut in the morning... again without waiting for me. Sigh... Her reason was, she didn't want me to wait. Well... I think she read me thoroughly. I can't stand dad's chemical weapon level stinking room. But I can also spend time nearby. I don't mind going there to see dad, but I don't want to stay for too long. There's neither conversation nor anything to do.

The staff has been constantly complaining about dad's spitting and shooting snot. He might have to be moved away. I guess we'll find out in 2 weeks during the care meeting. Today he's torn up another pair of pants. Mom brought it home to mend. Sigh... (T_T)

Since aunt Y return from the east coast, aunt L hadn't seen her, so she proposed treating us to dinner. Aunt Y has lung cancer and had lost a lot of weight from the trip. With dad away now, we were free to eat something other then Chinese food. Doesn't seem like any of the ladies' been to non-oriental restaurants too much, so I suggested Cactus Club. It was a success. Everyone liked the food. (Thanks to the Iron Chef, and A who introduced me to that.) While aunt Y and mom went to washroom, aunt L said aunt Y wouldn't last too long. I'm afraid it's true. She looks really shrunken and her cancer drug dosage has just increased by half recently. One pill costs $60. One dose costs $90. She has to take it every other day. This can bankrupt anyone easily!

So, A, please try not to be so wasteful. It doesn't hurt to save, and you don't know when you might need money... never mind, you said you stop reading my blog. This doesn't change what I want to say, though. And, it also shows whether you want to know me better or not. Wow... the score keeps dropping...

I wasn't there, but cousin K2 from LA phoned. It was about aunt F. I only over heard mom telling aunt Y that she's very depressed in the nursing home and wants to die.

Acetone

Finally! Got some acetone. After calling no less than 15 places, finally found one that sells "smaller" bottles. (Super bugs me that it's Rona!!!) It's still half quart (473 ml). Don't want to wait any longer so I made a special trip to get it. Unlike the nail polish remover, it's odorless. Very dangerous in over inhaling. (T_T)

The nearby house is all leveled already! The dump-trucks were working back-to-back non stop. (Oh crap... this means we can't dump garbage there...) Next, I suppose, should be getting rid of the old foundation?

Lindt Excellence Chili

From December 2010. I was super curious about this unlikely flavour and finally couldn't resist. It was just a novelty to me, and I didn't expect it to be even edible. However, to my surprised, it was very good! (Perhaps when your expectation is close to zero, anything tastes good.) The chocolate is like their regular dark chocolate. The chili was mild, and the heat only shows up after it's been in your mouth for a while... just before you swallow. Overall it feels elegant and has the same appeal as wasabi. (The heat is different, though.) If you need a wacky gift, this is perfect.
