Bad back continues. Thank God my family doesn't have any gift-giving tradition. (Any event is celebrated by eating out.) Still got 2 packs of mini fruit tarts as usual.
After washing my hair (and shower) it was quite late. Made up by dropping off a piece of chestnut cake to A. Brother reserved a table at our usual Shanghai restaurant at 5:30. It's a small place and rarely full, but it's mother's day after all. As expected, there were only one other party when we arrived. Since it was way earlier than our usual dinner time. We couldn't eat as much as usual, and had some to take home. (Normally we manage to finish everything.)
Went to brother's place afterward and played with his guinea pigs. (Mom seems to be very fond of them.) When it was time to eat the fruit tarts, dad was trying to over eat as usual. Oh, and while on the way out from the restaurant, he tried to snatch a bunch of paper napkins, but brother stopped him. He then yelled loudly "let go! What are you grabbing me for?" like brother was abusing him. Sigh...
I'm sure he's entering the late stage of Alzheimer's. Sigh...
Anyway, brother bought me a "time killer" book from NY. The idea is wicked. More gadget than practical, but funny. He bought sis-in-law a vase, and note books for my nieces. His total spending at the gallery gift shop cost just under $100. Not sure what else (if any) he bought but I'm sure not cheap.
