Tired...
... my best effort is no good. I'm tired of feeling no good. Why should I even border trying? Noting makes a difference.

Game day
Was going to the sakura event at VanDusen Garden. But it rain! (T_T) However, the sun came out at around 3:30. It was too late. (T_T) Flower was an awesome game, I'll have to say, although I don't play games. Ashleys says the trailer sucks, though.

Parcel
Got a late birthday present. Thanks Muranda! (^_^) Thought she went to Korea, but she actually bought it from a Korean website. I hope this senseless packaging didn't cost her extra postage. (T_T) The content is a wax seal set. To be honest, I don't even use pen and paper anymore. Perhaps I can do something with it for Miki's doll stuff.

Caramel Macchiato Kitkat
So, it's coffee. It's caramel. And... argh! It's white!!!!
Yup, smells heavily caramel. And milky too. Hmm... actually not as bad as I thought. Maybe I'm just hungry. It's sweet but not unpleasant. The bitterness of the coffee doesn't come out until a few bites later, and it helps to tone down the sweetness. Somehow this no longer tastes like chocolate. I prefer my chocolate brown and taste like chocolate.

Oshiruko Kitkat
As my understanding of Oshiruko is red bean soup with a blob of rice flour dough. This should taste like the old red bean Kitkat. Wow it smell like red bean more than chocolate! And... taste like red bean, but better than red bean or Kitkat!! It's slightly on the sweet side, but well within my toleration. Can't tell the tiny sticky rice puff, though. Overall, this is a good one amongst all the more recent weird flavours.

Locked out
(Image has nothing to do with subject.)
Finally went to see a dentist today. He seems to be very nice. I think I'll sign him up as my family dentist. But still... an hour of talking and looking cost $80. That's almost what I make in 2 whole days. (T_T)
Got locked out of the house again. It was only 11pm. Lights were out already. Sigh...

Unagi Pie
Thanks Totsu for the cookies, and thanks Sora for sending it! (^_^)
I've been curious about this item ever since I saw it on Kishoku no Yakata. Never thought I'd have a chance to actually try it. Thanks again!! This is very similar to the butterfly cookies in Chinese bakery. (Butterfly cookie is just a nick name. It's real name is probably different.) Eel powder is in the ingredient list. There's also honey, which shows up quite prominently in the taste. It's delicious!!!! A friend thinks it's a little too sweet, though. Oh, one more thing. I'm super impressed about how little crumbs that fall out. For something that flicky, I'd expect to make a mess, but not! Good job!

Pumpkin Pretz (olive oil and herbs)
3 of 3. Thanks sora again! (^_^) Can't make out any smell. It's virtually odorless. Taste... The first impression is chestnut! How strange! But 3 seconds later, it turns into pumpkin. Wow. It's got the signature grassiness. Then the sweetness kicks in. Can't feel any olive oil or herbs, though. They're successful in re-creating the pumpkin part. Not sure if they've tone down the other 2 on purpose, or the pumpkin is too strong. I guess if you try harder, you can sense a little bit of butter. After the other 2 that are so perfect, this one is anti-climax. Oh well, the sequence was my choice, tough luck.

Basil Pretz (olive oil and herbs)
Continues with the olive oil series. #2 of the 3 bags from Sora. Thanks~!! (^_^) This one, ya gotta be kidding! It feels like real food! Expensive ones too!!!!! I can smell cheese. And Basil. It... it's like.... eating a complete sandwich... but in a cracker stick! Weird, but really good!
Forgot to mention this last time. It says within the vegetable fat, 54% is olive oil. I wonder if this is the new margarine that's made form olive oil. I don't believe it's any healthier, though.

Black Friday
The second black Friday of this year! Wonder if we're gonna have more. (Last time was February.) Maybe 2 negatives make a positive. Nothing bad happened today, thank God.
The hair cut works. My eyes are not itching anymore! Yay~! But the skin on my jaws are still dodgy. My sister-in-law's hands are all cracked. She's got super sensitive skin and allergies.
The birthday cake mom bought yesterday really sucked. The "black forest" did have a cherry on top, but didn't have any cherry fillings. Butter cream was used instead of fresh cream (or whip cream). The cake was super rough and felt like cake mix. There was no chocolate flavour. The only taste was icing sugar. You do get what you pay for, but this was a total ripoff. Oh well.

Tried to take a photo of the Newtype special Nagato Pinky, but broke her glasses. Sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob sob... (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T) (T_T)
Allergy has been getting worse. Finally got a hair cut so my eyes won't be irritated by the hair.
Ran around town today, but got lots done. (1) Lunch with C and S to drop off souvenir from my trip and C's Pinky. (2) Hair cut. (3) Stopped at Dress Sew for doll clothes fabric (nothing was good though.) (4) Drop off all my old phone book-type Japanese manga magazine to Emily Carr. Was gonna just leave them at the recycle box and stick a note saying "free", ended up giving them to their library. (5) Renewed BCAA membership. (6) Picked up tomorrow's lunch. Was hoping to go to Metrotown to get some toner, but I was too tired. Oh well.

Tomato Pretz (olive oil and herbs)
Thanks Sora for this one! (Actually 3 different flavors. Coming soon.) Comes in tin foil zip-lock packs instead of boxes. It's different yet it's still Pretz. Well done, package designer! Back to the taste test... When it comes to tomatoes, there are 3 things in mind. (1) Lay's ketchup chips. (2) The old time tomato Pretz that tasted like pizza. (3) Another old time tomato Pretz that had no tomato taste at all. So what would this one be?
None of the above!
Smells like... olive oil! Wow! First impression, Italian food. You know that bread baked with herbs that you dip in olive oil? This Pretz is like that. The tomato is kind of weak but you can still taste it. And there's no reddish power on the cracker stick. The tomato is in the dough. I'll have to say, I'm impressed. They finally succeed in making a good tomato flavour. Congrats!

Koeda: Deep Matcha
Using 100% Uji green tea (high grade), it's a limited edition again. Actually, don't they have a regular green tea flavour? If not, they should! Or is this limited edition thing a gimmick to increase sales?
Anyway, you can't go wrong with green tea. And it's slight bitterness matches well with chocolate. The tiny rice and wheat puffs add a well calculated texture. The addiction factor is high without being tangy.
$2.98 for 16 stick. Kind of expensive, but still feels like a better deal than the coconut Pocky. It makes you feel like it's worth the money.

Crazy snow!
What happened to spring? What happened to the nice weather yesterday? I was in Champlain mall in Burnaby around 5:30. A stop at a grocery story and a bakery resulted in my car being covered in 4 inches of snow! Crazy!
It just dawned on me that my unexplained neck and should pain and grumpiness yesterday must have been caused by this weather change. Still lack energy today.

Coconut Pocky
Limited edition... from when? This has been around for a while. Coconut is not my cup of tea and I've been avoiding it. Situation called for one more item for the total to go over $10 in order to use my credit card. So, I bought one. And... it actually tastes surprisingly good! (Or is it because I was hungry???) It's simply dried coconut shavings on chocolate, but they are an awesome match. This reminds me of the white Ferraro Roche. Maybe I should reevaluate my feelings towards coconut.
However, $1.69 for only 14 sticks is waaaay too expensive. They're packaged into 2 inner bags. 7 sticks each.

Stupid parking
Once in a while the 3 parking spots at my chiropractor would be all full and I'd wait until one frees up. Otherwise it's $3 an hour. Today was one of those days. As usual I phoned up the receptionist to ask how long before someone leaves, and waited. Sometimes there is competition and so was today. Another guy was also waiting, but I was there first. Calling the receptionist helps because she can prove what time I arrived. And I'm glad the guy understood. (Some people don't. Sigh...)
The clinic seemed extra busy today, and it showed in the demand for parking spot. However, I don't think the clinic ever called tow trucks on non-patients who park in their reserved spots. The receptionist told me, last week she almost called one. Yes, it was a non-patient, but he also bought 8 hours of parking! He seemed to be some kind of real estate agent and here was a phone number on the car. Despite constant effort, the guy didn't answer. Luckily the clinic was only opened for half a day. Otherwise he would have been towed.
Bought ticket and then park at a reserved spot? What a moron!

Gluttony
(Picture has nothing to do with subject.)
Over heard mom talking on the phone about dad. One morning she made breakfast (2 sets of oatmeal + toast with jam) and then went to do her washroom routine. Came back, only to discover dad had eaten everything plus washed the dishes.
That's 2 people's share of breakfast. And seems like he would destroy the evidence afterward. Sigh... he's doomed. We're doomed...

Razor
Seems like dad no longer knows how to change batteries. Mom noticed his stubble getting very long and asked him why he hasn't been shaving. He said the razor's batteries died. She said, then change the batteries! Later she found him laying out the batteries but didn't change them. Sigh...
Mom then suggested him to use the razor from my late uncle. He handed her a wrong one. (Geeze, god knows how many he has! After all, we've got a total of 4 vacuum cleaners including 3 from friends and relatives who bought new ones or reverse-immigrated.) Dad doesn't even know how to open the razor's snap case! Hopeless...
