No bees, no fruit, though.

10-cent menu items

There's actually a pretty nice hotel coffee shop in Osaka that carries 10 yen items on its's menu. At about 10 cents, you can have either a sandwhich, a toast, a salad, or a hard boiled egg. 3 items max, though. But the coffee costs 460 yen. But still, breakfast at 490 yen (below $5) at a hotel? That's quite cheap.

The death clock

Enter your date of birth and body mass index, and it calculates your time of death. The countdown is shown in seconds. I get to live to 80 years old, yay~! (I don't think I'll live that long, haha...)

Black Tuna

There was a 45-minute wait at Guu, so we wondered around, and finally settled down in Black Tuna. The food was OK. Slightly on the expensive side, though. They were grossly short-staffed and things were moving very slow. Ajisai was better in terms of both quality and service.

Thanks for the chocolate, Andrew!

To Joe (get well soon)

Didn't know Joe's been in the hospital for 2 months! Thought it was a shot episode that crashed with his wedding day... (that resulted in a ceremony in the hospital...) Yikes!! I'm so sorry!

Well, Joe, I hope you'll recover soon. You can do it! (Otherwise, these two nasty looking nurses will poke you with that needle.) (^_^)

Indian wedding?(2)

They're doing it again, 3 nights in a roll. Last night, there were still some noise around 4 a.m. Right now the loud music just went down. (Probably got complains form the neighbours.) However, the loud talking, cheering, and laughing are just as bad. I wonder what time they'll stop tonight.

Indian wedding?

4 houses away (2 each way across the intersection) has been having a party for 2 nights in a roll. A tent has been set up in the front yard (looks like it extends from the garage). East Indian music all night long. Before midnight it was quite loud. After midnight, it was mainly people talking and laughing (loud too). And that went past 3:30 a.m. Hmm...

Resin vs china

This tea set is resin. Although looking like plastic, there are more details than yesterday's real china. The wine bottles are plastic, but I like them better then the glass ones. The cork actually comes off too! Either way, can't afford to buy any.

Homework

Argh!! Couldn't draw a mother's day card... (only managed to do one for the other blog.)

Anyway, these wine bottles are hand-blown glass. The tea set is china. The lids of the tea pot and sugar jar are removable. Well, those weren't homework. The rest was.

The box is plywood, and as you can see, dove tailed. The panels were lazer-cut. Cool stuff.

Happy Mother's Day!

Yikes!! Haven't had a chance to draw up a card yet. Let's see if I can do it within today...

Memoru collection fugure

Aaaaaaaaaargh!!! I've been waiting for something like this forever! Hope it will be available locally. But chances are, no one knows this anime, thus the stores won't carry it. Sob sob sob...

Airport sculpture

Hmm... is there any way to put the background in focus too while using macro mode? It was strange that I couldn't even focus using the widest lens (while in macro mode). Narrower lens blurs the background even more.

Ross, Target etc

Cross-border shopping today again. I was just hitching a ride again. Bought unnecessary stuff again (but better than last time). A back pack $6.99, 2 fleeze throws $3.99 each, chewing gums, and ice-cream.

Air cannon

Yikes! This is straight from Doaemon! (But I don't see any Doaemon on the packaging...) Kids will shoot at each other for sure. With a 3-meter range, I wonder how strong it is...

Planetarium globe

Only 19cm tall? That's tiny! I guess by the time the projection reaches the ceiling, they'd be huge!

Alarm clocks

"Flying Alarm Clock". It takes off as the alarm goes off. The only way to stop it is to catch it. Taking the "alarm clock on wheels" one step further.

"Danger clock". To stop the alarm, you have to "defuse the bomb" by pulling one of the three wires. The "correct wire" is reset rendomly everyday.

"Banclock". Not just an alarm clock with a bank (like the Doraemon one), you gotta stop the alarm by putting money into it. More like "bribe clock"?

"Doraemon Alarm Clock Bank". Doubles as a bank. Thank God, he doesn't take bribe.

"Ultraman series 40th anniversary limited edition alarm clock". Nothing special, just very cheesy.

"Box Clock". Doubles as a lamp. The box is made of wook. Not an alarm clock but kind of looks cool.

"Skeleton Flip-page Clock". Usually encased, but this one is bare. (= Skeleton.) Again, not an alarm clock.

"Double sided Clock". Iron frame. Just a nice looking clock.

Eat! Vancouver 2007

Aaargh! The price went up! It was $12 last year. Now it's $14! I want to go, but at the same time, 14 bucks is starting to leave my budget range... Hmm... I think I'll go if I find someone to go with. Otherwise...well, we'll see.

Outlet shopping

My brother's brother-in-law (complicated...) and his wife are in town. They went cross-border shopping yesterday so I hitched a ride, hoping to find Re-ment USA products. (Hehe...) Too bad, the type of stores they went to weren't the "right type" and I found nothing. Unfortunately, impulse shopping kicked in. I ended up buying things that I don't need. (A hand bag, a shirt, 2 towels, and dried blue berries.) Oh well, the deal is good, and I didn't want to waste the trip, but that's money spent nevertheless. We left at around 11AM. By the time I got home, it was 1AM.

Hosting help! (2) "110MB.com"

So, can anybody recommend a good free hosting site please? Hostdepartment is out. They were the first one I tried years ago. And my stuff disappeared after a while. (Hmm... OK, perhaps it was because of my slacking off on updating.)

Does anyone know anything about 110MB.com? I don't need e-mail, so they seem to be perfect, but this is what I get every single time I try to sing up:

Registration opens at random times of day. This is intentional.
Currently it's closed. So you'll need to keep checking back often if you want in.

Sounds incredibly fishy, but at the same time, believable. If it's so easy to sign up, they'd be swarmed... right? It's part of the "too good to be true"... right???

Hosting help! (Byehost sucks!!)

I was shocked to find that Byehost had inserted ad links into my contents. Words throughout my articles have turn into ad links... as if I were the one who put them there! This is a total lack of respect and violation of trust. I have no words to describe how upset I am.

Yeah, it's free, but they already have flashing ad banners on the bottom of each page. Do they really need text links in my articles? The only result they'll get is me leaving. That's it. Byehost sucks! No more Byehost, ever!!

One way to work around the ads is, to make all the text into images. But that's not worth the time and trouble. Most of all, some of the banner ads seem to be adult sites. This is where I draw the line.

Usually isn't it the other way round? When you sign up, part of the user agreement is not to have adult content (together with other stuff like racist, terrorist, religion, or illegal content etc).

I have 3 sites with them. This is giving me a big headache... (>_<;)

Log candle

Made from 45cm tall chunks of real logs. Doesn't say how long it lasts, though. You can also use it as a stool before lighting, and a stove when the fire calms down. Around $40 for 2. Choice of cedar or Japanese oak.

Coniglio hat

Japanese influence? Haha...
Sorry, the video can't be embeded. Click the image or the post title for the link.
I think a pretty young girl would work much better as a model.
