Last day of February. (This is a stocked up report.)
Tsubutsubu = grainy. Mikan = relative of tangerine and mandarin. Like their grainy strawberry flavour, there are little grains of sugar(?) in the "chocolate" part. They had an orange chocolate flavour before, but I totally forgot what that was like. (Except for not worth a second box.) This mikan flavour is quite mild and light, yet very fragrant. The best part I like about this, is the low tangyness. It's not like some other flavours that make you eat non-stop. However, the after taste is so fragrant that it can't be natural... (20% Wenzhou mikan juice used. )
... and I ate the whole box because I was hungry. Haha... (>_<;) $2.39 for a box of 20 sticks packaged in 4 bags, it's a little too expensive for a second box. If I had money I might go for it again. For now, I'll pass.

Honey Lemon Pretz
Got it at Fujiya. Haven't seen it around too much. (Or I'm just not paying attention?) Kid's size, just right for one sitting. (Hmm... OK, maybe slightly more than "just right".) I thought it would be sweet and heavy, but it's surprisingly light and pleasant. Not too sweet, not too tart. Just right. This is one of the sweet Pretz that I don't mind. Normally I'd say, Pretz should be salty instead of sweet. After all, pretzels are supposed to be salty, right?

Parcels
Not feeling well. Took a day off. Finally sent the long over due parcels to Japan.
The Canadian post office is super screwed up. I was told that a 4kg surface parcel costs $99! The clerk only tells you the most expensive way to send a package. I wonder if the outlet takes a % as commission.
If I didn't ask, I wouldn't have found out two 2kg packages sent as small packet is $21 each. Of course I'd break up the 4kg into two 2kg.
I lost the link of their rate table due to my recent computer upgrade. There's only a page where you enter all the info (dimensions, weight etc) and it returns the options and price. (Sucks! The old page is probably out of date too. Sigh...) There I found out the clerk lie! A 4kg surface parcel only costs $60! $99 is express ($108 after tax and surcharge)! Grrrrr!!!! Yes, they definitely are trying to trick you into sending via the most expensive option. Nevertheless, small packets are still cheaper.
I'd much rather have all the info available from a table. This new system doesn't tell you small packet is only up to 2kg.

Work day
Had to work on a Saturday. It's 2 weeks before my boss' next trip. As usual, I don't get to find out until it's just around the corner. She wants me to work one more day a week. Doesn't hurt as long as I get paid, I guess. But I'll have to say, I never recovered from our fight before my trip. Knowing that she thinks I'm a super lucky girl who doesn't have to worry about paying rent, really bugs me. (Excuse me, I do have my fair share of problems that you don't see and don't know about. And those are none of your business. Just don't assume I don't have any problems because you don't see them.) I also suspect she'd pay other helpers first and pay me last, because in her eyes, I'm just earning "extra" money here. Grrrr...

Mixed Fruit Kitkat Little
Not that much different from the banana one. Where's the rest of the fruit, then??? A closer look at the package reveals a picture of banana. I see... it's saying, this is banana-dominant. OK I'll shut up. It's at least as artificial as the banana Kitkat if not more. Don't think I'll go back for a second bag. Neither this one nor the banana one.

Banana Kitkat Little
Limited (Japanese) edition. I think there's a similar format in north America too, but not 100% sure. This almost looks and feels like a Maltesers-wannabe... It's about the same size, the shape is somewhat rounded, with chocolate coating the wafer layers. Taste... hmm... not my cup of tea. Once opened, there's a strong smell of banana, but quite artificial. (It says artificially flavoured on the bag too.) The candy itself is surprisingly not sweet. The cream-coloured "chocolate" coat is waxy. The wafer layers feel kind of stale. Most of all, I don't really like banana. So why did I buy it? Curiosity.
I think Kitkat lost it's identity by leaving the bar format. If it's little bits like this, you can't "have a break".

Black Friday
Valentine's Day eve is black Friday, hmm... I just slept it away. Most of it anyway.
What can I say, what can I say... caught dad snacking behind our back again. I asked him what he was eating, he said crackers. OK none of my business, a cracker or two shouldn't do that much damage, but he just had pastry as afternoon snack. Turn out he opened the box of egg rolls I bought from the HK Product & Brand Expo without even thinking of sharing. No? But he did it when mom was taking a nap. I was around but he didn't ask if I want any. So, has he forgotten manners, or his family? Then around 10 PM when I opened a bag, there are 4 rolls in there! He ate all 4 rolls in the afternoon! That, is a problem, as those rolls are fattening. Let's say, the side view of his waist is wider than his front view. At this rate, he's gonna eat himself to death, if Alzheimer's or high blood pressure, or the aneurysm doesn't get him first. Blah blah blah, too much whining. Sorry. Here's a card.

Lotte Rich Fruit Chocolate Mango
Thanks Sora for this one! 31% dried Alfonso Mango used... (but of course not 31% of the total content. Probably 31% of the mango content.) I'm not a big fan of mango flavour because it usually tastes very artificial and cough-syrup-like. This one, however, is different. I kind of like it. It's very mild and fragrant. A bit milky but well balanced. The tartness is just below the addictive level so I could stop anytime easily. (Nevertheless, I ate the whole thing because I was hungry...) It doesn't say anything about being a limited edition, so I assume it's a regular.

Puchi Kabukiage
Thanks Yue for this one. This mini rice cracker is loaded with MSG... but so good! I know I'm in the salt-craving phase now, but this is dangerously good... and quite greasy too. It must be the size. I finished the whole bag in one sitting and still craving for more. Perhaps I should just go eat some salt. (Already added lots of salt to my soup at dinner, though. Hmm...)
