Old watch

My brother's in-laws canceled on us because the dad is in hospital. He's quite sick from diabetes and has been on dialysis for years. Things are not looking good...... (>_<;) We ended up having lunch with another family friend instead. Then we completed 2 difficult missions. We've been trying for days without luck.

1) Repairing my mom's old wrist watch. My dad used to be good at such things, so she asked him to replace the strap, but he lost the spring on one side. The watch is only 48 years old, but among the half-a-dozen stores we visited, not a single one has the spring. Finally, we found the store at which the watch was purchased. They couldn't help us, but instead gave us the address of a watch parts supply store that might have the spring. Bingo! Parts with installation only cost $10! Amazing!

2) Getting aunt W's plain white shirt, long sleeve with round collar. She needs it as part of her choir's uniform. Just like the watch, we looked everywhere with no luck. Can't believe it's so hard to find!!! As the last resort, we were about to try school uniform stores. By chance, we walked into "Yue Hwa", a Chinese department store, and there it was. Yay!!! Mission completed!!!

Jackets were on sale so my mom and I each bought one. Hers $229, mine $199. Can't say they look too stylish. We were too late so the colour we want was sold out. We were forced to get the closest size with less desirable colour. Oh well. For purchase over $300, we got $20 coupon, and used it on the white shirt.
Got home at around 4. Washed the shirts from yesterday's purchase. With nothing else to do, I wrote this. That's why this post is long.
